Pathways programs are designed for young people aged 16-18 who may benefit from a preparatory period and transition year to aid their progression. These programs are particularly suited for learners who may face barriers to education due to their previous experiences and are seeking a supportive environment to build confidence and skills.

As a Pathways Lecturer, you will be instrumental in creating engaging lessons and nurturing a positive learning environment that helps students thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver lessons that cater to the needs of students in Pathways programs, helping them overcome learning barriers and prepare for future education or employment
Complete and comply with all relevant paperwork and documentation
Follow all statutory and company policies and procedures
Adhere to Ofsted, QCF, and college regulations, ensuring that student portfolios and records meet awarding body standards
Actively participate in, and promote, the safeguarding of children, young people, and vulnerable adults
Practice and promote equal opportunities and diversity within the learning environment and the workplace
Attend bi-monthly team and standardisation meetings
Stay up to date with national standards and educational developments
Pursue further professional qualifications to enhance skills and knowledge
Maintain a CPD file to ensure occupational competence is current and documented
Promote college values and adhere to safeguarding policies
Engage in continuous professional development

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, candidates must meet the following criteria:

A solid general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above
Proven experience working with SEN students
