Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Assistant Manager to join our Client's team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient supply chain processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity. This position requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of warehouse management systems, and the ability to manage logistics effectively.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all staff duties in warehouse, distribution, and deliveries.
* Load and unload trucks in line with company policy ensuring health and safety requirements are maintained and accurate records kept. Completing daily logs.
* Keep the warehouse clean and tidy ensuring all items are stored correctly.
* Using the appropriate machinery where required in line with the safe operation of machinery.
* Follow safety procedures at all times including using the appropriate safety equipment.
* Ensure building and assets kept to a high standard; security in place for building/stock etc; spot checks on high value items
* Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards.
* Build company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
* Ensure that the warehouse is kept in a tidy and safe condition and that orders to and from the warehouse are correctly booked in and out. Cleaning and maintaining work area.
* Loading and unloading trucks, order picking, wrapping products, packing, labelling, shipping and receiving.
* Responsible for quality control to ensure that no damaged product is sent out.
* Liaising with all Staff, Managers, Shipping Companies, Building security and landlord and wider team as required.
Experience
* Previous experience in a warehouse distribution environment essential.
* Management/Supervisory experience.
* Very good communication skills / professional and positive attitude.
* Effective time management and prioritising skills.
* Demonstratable problem-solving and organisational skills.
* Must be self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude enabling you to work unsupervised.
* Ability to work well with others and build rapport with colleagues and customers.
* Must have a current clean driving license (where required the 7.5T training)
* Forklift skills not essential - Desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
