We are currently looking for an Assistant Tax Manager to join our team in London.

You will be responsible for supporting the Group Tax Manager and VAT Manager with the group’s global tax compliance and reporting obligations. The role is a mixed tax role with a focus on corporation tax, VAT and tax provisioning.

Within this role you will support the Group Tax function by ensuring strong tax governance and controls are in place, as well as thorough production of timely and relevant tax returns and reporting to support the countries in which CMC Markets operates.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the Group Tax Manager and VAT manager in managing CMC Markets global tax compliance requirements.

• Support the Group Tax Manager in preparing the half-year and year-end group tax provisions for the group and entities.

• Manage international corporate, indirect tax and other compliance matters, liaising with Group Finance and other business functions as appropriate.

• Support the Group Tax Manager and VAT Manager in responding to tax enquiries from tax authorities and external advisors.

• Assist with updating tax policies and risk register.

• Assist with the identification of potential risks and opportunities.

• Support tax optimisation and business strategic initiatives, including ad hoc project and advisory work either international or UK focused dependent on need.

Key Skills & Experience

• Qualified tax professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA or ATT).
• Experience in tax with a top tier professional services firm (preferred) or as part of the group tax team of a global business with international operations.
• A strong background in UK and international tax compliance and reporting. Experience in preparing tax provisions under IFRS.
• A desire to work in a fast-paced environment and to take responsibility and ownership of allocated work.
• An agile individual with the ability to work independently and to drive a project forward as a self-starter.
