Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum
Our client, a specialist scientific consultancy is looking for a Lab Supervisor to help run one of their testing labs. The role will be operational by nature, acting as a hands-on leader, managing customer priorities and workflow to ensure customer satisfaction, whilst also helping to develop the lab team. Key duties will include: -
- Leading a team of technicians and test engineers
- Ensuring resources within the lab are maximised
- Working to customer requirements, ensuing testing is completed on time with often competing customer priorities
- Assisting with training and development of the lab staff
- Ensuring H&S within the lab
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate all or most of the following: -
- A Level (or higher) – physics (ideally), or other relevant scientific / engineering discipline
- Experience of leading and developing a lab team with a particular focus on coaching, training, etc
- Experience of resource management and workflow scheduling
- Practical lab skills
The ideal candidate will have come up through technical roles in the labs and have a couple of years’ experience supervising a team – day to day direction of a small team rather than full appraisals, etc is fine.
