The role - Art Teacher

I am working with a SEMH school that is looking for an Art Teacher to start ASAP (can be deferred for the right candidate). For this role you must demonstrate a clear understanding of the national curriculum, age related expectations and targets, the assessment process and school provision generally. You will need to have a clear understanding of child development and children with SEMH and associated SEN. For this Art Teacher role you must maintain assessment, planning, recording and reporting as agreed by the school and encourage, develop and support relationships between families, staff and children. You are to create a well-managed, secure and happy classroom where priority is given to the quality of the learning environment, maximising opportunities for children to learn.

The school - SEMH

The school is a SEMH school based in Lambeth that caters for children aged 5 - 16 years old. They hold therapy and a therapeutic approach at the heart of everything they do, understanding that if pupils feel emotionally and mentally well, they can play and learn effectively. At the school assemblies and extra-curricular clubs are provided at the end of every school day, and regular educational trips enhance the curriculum further. They have a local London Underground Station and many bus routes.
