Trading Manager (Buyer) – Fresh & Frozen  Harrow, London  £50,000 per annum  35 hours per week Role OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trading Manager (Buyer) to join a Trading Department in Harrow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiating national terms and delivering income budgets, as well as expertise in category management and supplier relations. This role involves developing and implementing category plans to drive profitability and brand growth while ensuring a seamless supply chain for fresh and frozen goods.Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in negotiating with multiple stakeholders within a recognised brand.
  • Experience working within the food industry
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in interpreting complex data.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and working cross-functionally within a large team.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • A degree or equivalent training in Business or Administration (desirable).
Skills & Competencies:
  • Proven ability to analyse data, adapt to changing environments, and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and deliver difficult messages effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience, ambitious objectives, and provide excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead negotiations for key categories, securing national terms, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Forecast and manage budgets, including income and levy management for brand lines.
  • Develop new product strategies and collaborate with suppliers to maintain a robust supply base.
  • Manage promotional plans and ensure competitive pricing across product ranges.
  • Conduct seasonal buying, including managing stock and exit strategies for key periods.
  • Handle cost price negotiations and supply chain management to optimise product availability.
  • Lead category reviews and collaborate with internal teams to achieve consensus on national supplier strategies.
  • Contribute to product development and strategy to increase brand share.
