The role will initially be part-time and temporary, with the potential to transition into a full-time permanent position. Role Overview:
The Finance Manager will play a critical role in bringing the finance function in-house, overseeing all financial operations, and providing strategic advice to help guide the business as it scales. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with experience in financial management, reporting, and scaling businesses. You will be instrumental in helping the business achieve its financial goals, providing high-quality financial advice, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of bringing the finance function in-house and managing day-to-day financial operations using XERO.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including management accounts, P&L, and balance sheets. Provide regular financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
- Advise on business priorities from a financial perspective, providing recommendations on cost management, profitability, and financial strategy.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies to support growth and scaling.
- Offer insights into managing cash flow and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls and systems.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategic plans.
- Day to day financial operations such as billing, invoicing, credit control and reporting.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager, ideally with exposure to scaling businesses and setting up in-house finance functions.
- Strong financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting skills.
- Experience advising senior leadership teams on business priorities and financial strategies.
- Ability to take a hands-on approach while also thinking strategically about business growth.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growing environment (telecoms or similar sectors would be an advantage).
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in a telecoms or technology-focused business is a plus.
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
