Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Specialty Doctor to join our clients 12-bed rehabilitation and recovery ward. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to holistic and person-centred care for our patients.
Reporting to the Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be an integral part of the medical team, ensuring patients receive exceptional care throughout their recovery journey. This role is ideal for someone with experience in mental health, and experience in a rehabilitation setting will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day medical responsibilities, including liaising with GPs and supporting patients' treatment plans.
  • Take bloods for Clozapine and other investigations, review results, and follow up as necessary.
  • Lead and participate in Care Programme Approach (CPA) meetings, support junior staff training, and assist with the induction of new starters.
  • Assist the Consultant with report preparation and production, and attend MHA Managers Hearings as required.
  • Conduct assessments for new referrals, complete clerking for new admissions, and prepare discharge summaries.
  • Work closely with the physical health nurse specialist and maintain professional communication with families, care coordinators, and commissioners.
  • Attend and facilitate training, some of which may require off-site attendance.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in Mental Health
  • Rehabilitation Setting Experience
  • Ability to liaise effectively with patients, families, GPs, CMHTs, and care teams.
  • Provide medical cover in the absence of the part-time Consultant on-site.
