Description of the Role:

Simply Education are looking for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Bolton, Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire and educate students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 (KS5) for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality science lessons that engage, challenge, and inspire students while fostering a deep understanding of the subject.

This role offers a supportive and dynamic teaching environment where professional development is encouraged, and the science department works collaboratively to deliver engaging and effective lessons. The ideal candidate will be committed to nurturing students' academic growth and inspiring a passion for science in the classroom.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential to teach Key Stage 5.
Develop engaging and differentiated lesson plans and assessments that cater to students' varying learning needs.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and fosters a passion for science.
Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-level examinations, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills for success.
Maintain high standards of behavior management in line with school policies.
Contribute to the development of the science curriculum and collaborate with other teachers to improve teaching strategies and classroom practices.
Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and development.
Participate in school events, departmental meetings, and professional development opportunities to further enhance teaching practice.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or related subject).
Experience teaching science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential; experience with Key Stage 5 teaching is desirable.
Strong knowledge of the secondary science curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Ability to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for teaching science and inspiring students.
Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if necessary).
