Company Overview:

The Titchfield facility, known for its extensive fuel and air system test capabilities, is crucial to our commitment to comprehensive testing and validation across a range of conditions and fuel types.

Role Overview:
The Engineering Services Manager will provide leadership and technical guidance to the Engineering Services team, focusing on managing non-core engineering activities, including subcontracted services, test facility design and maintenance, and service delivery. This role is essential in ensuring the operational efficiency, safety, and compliance of the test facilities while managing a team of nine engineers. The position is integral to the Engineering Leadership team within the Titchfield site and supports the design, development, testing, and service of airframe fuel products.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of nine engineers, providing guidance, motivation, and conducting annual performance reviews.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages continuous improvement and high ethical standards.
Resource management, including workload distribution and team development.
Service Delivery and Facility Management:
Oversee the management of service delivery for subcontracted engineering services, ensuring supplier compliance with agreed-upon service commitments.
Manage the design and development of test rigs and fixtures, including procurement of external services for these activities.
Ensure the maintenance, calibration, and readiness of all lab equipment, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
Safety and Compliance:
Develop and maintain a strong lab safety culture, proactively addressing safety issues related to personnel, visitors, facilities, and equipment.
Conduct risk assessments for facilities and activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory obligations.
Operational Excellence:
Manage and report on lab metrics, including safety, cost, quality, and efficiency.
Develop and manage a 5-year rolling budget for capital investments in equipment and facilities, aligned with business strategy.
Coordinate with other site functional leaders to ensure clear and consistent communication of risks, opportunities, and progress.
Test Facility Management:
Ownership of the test fixture and test rig design process, ensuring that these assets meet both internal and customer requirements.
Oversee the maintenance of test rigs, ensuring they are in compliance with regulatory standards and operational needs.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in an engineering function, with at least 1 year in a people management role.
Skills:
Strong background in engineering test and product development.
Experience in managing subcontracted service delivery, facility maintenance, and compliance.
Ability to assess risks, particularly in test environments, and ensure safe operational practices.
Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.Preferred Experience:

Experience in safety-critical industries such as aerospace, automotive, rail, or nuclear.
