Our client is an Essex based groundworks and civil engineering contractor. They have been established for over 20 years and is a recognised as a contractor that successfully delivers projects across a broad sector base covering civils, groundworks and Utilities.

Due to a number of high profile wins and organic growth, my client now needs to expand the preconstruction team and so the need now exists for an experienced estimator to become part of their success.

ROLE:

* Developing tender strategy and managing the timely tender submission to clients • Assessing and implementing risk assessments within the tender

* Pricings jobs using first principals estimating and value engineering • Preparing tender sum analysis/pricing document/bills of quantities

* Taking of dimensions from drawings as required

* Production of accurate and comprehensive estimates for complex projects up to the value of £5M

* Post tender financial negotiations

* Liaison with design consultants during tender process to obtain design information and ensure the most viable construction processes are adopted

* File tender documents in accordance with standard company procedure

CANDIDATE:

* The Intermediate / Senior Estimators will have 3-6 years of experience and come from a civil engineering or groundworks background.

* Intermediate / Senior Estimators will have experience of carrying out the estimating process from start to finish up to the value of £5M

* You will have a stable CV and must come from a civil engineering / groundworks background

* Estimators will ideally be educated to HNC level as a minimum (or equivalent)

* You will have experience of computerised Estimating software and Microsoft Office Packages competency

* Senior Estimators must be able to estimate using first principles

* To be able to produce accurate results within the time pressured environment of pre-contracts
