THE ROLE
The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for the financial management and support that is provided to the Group functions of AAB with annual spend in excess of £30m. They will be working closely with the Executive Team member responsible for each function, as well as the wider organisation, to ensure that all overhead costs are accurately reported, budgets are precisely prepared (and adhered to) and cost optimisation programmes are effectively implemented and monitored.
The role will be based in Edinburgh with regular travel to our Aberdeen office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide FP&A support to the AAB Group / Central Functions including IT, Finance, Marketing, People and Culture, Operational Support and the Central function.
- Monthly reporting and analysis of all overhead expenditure.
- Lead the quarterly forecasting process for all overhead functions.
- Lead the budget process for all overhead functions.
- Identify, implement and drive cost reductions and cost efficiencies across all overhead functions.
- Work closely with the Group Financial Controller and Group Shared Services Manager to ensure processes are streamlined and optimised.
- Ensure accurate cost allocations across all overhead functions.
- Develop and support reporting of contribution across the group, ensuring robust processes are in place for recharging specific overheads back to the revenue generating business units.
- Manage and report on CAPEX spend v budget v forecast
- Support with overhead function decision making (i.e. costs of change, cost of integration, cost/benefit of IT investments).
- Driving and managing efficient use of Business Central and Iris Practice Engine, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiencies
- Assessing and implementing new software solutions to improve controls, processes and efficiency across the business (i.e. Purchase Order System, Expenses System).
Required experience/skills/qualifications
- Professional Financial qualification (CA, CIMA, ACC)
- Can do and problem solving attitude
- Customer focused approach
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to self-motivate and strive for high performance (for self and team)
- Role model of AAB values
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel (essential), Microsoft Business Central (highly advantageous), PowerBI (advantageous) and Iris Practice Engine (helpful)
