This role will form part of a newly created team which will provide exceptional service to their wholesale clients. The role of a Broker requires strong communication skills, and a customer-centric attitude is essential.

Role Responsibilities 

  • To negotiate the best terms and conditions for our North American Property clients, using appropriate knowledge, expertise, and market presence for the desired cover.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure that all new and renewal business, mid-term amendments and general enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally.
  • Develop solid and long-term relationships with clients and markets, always looking at ways to improve this relationship.
  • Usage of departmental mandatory documentation such as market sheets and checklists and adherence to departmental procedures
  • Liaise with other division members to assess client requirements and broking strategy on any particular risk.
  • To organise, manage and run a renewal book of allocated risks.
  • Assist with setting and monitoring sales targets, both personal and team.
  • Resolve issues and handle complaints quickly and effectively.
  • Carry out reviews to ensure the quality of both personal outputs and the wider team's.
  • Maintaining the company's electronic filing system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide any necessary ad hoc support to Team Lead and other team members.
  • Providing and undertaking training as required by the line manager.
  • Mandatory completion of company-prescribed learning and adherence to FCA rules.
  • Compliance with all company procedures

Role Requirements

  • Broking experience in the London insurance market, specialising in US Property
  • Familiarity and adherence to London market regulations (desirable)
  • Ability to review a London Market Reform Contract and identify errors in others' work (desirable)
  • Highly customer and results-driven goals, good commercial sense
  • Insurance qualifications, e.g. CII (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook essential
