HLTA Experience? Step into a Confident Cover Supervisor Role

If you're a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who's already used to leading lessons, managing behaviour, and supporting student progress, this role is tailored for you.

A respected secondary school in Uxbridge is seeking capable and experienced HLTAs to join their team as Cover Supervisors. You'll already know how to keep a class on task, follow behaviour policies, and build strong rapport with students—this time, you'll do it with even more autonomy and zero planning or marking responsibilities.

✅ Who We're Looking For

We're only considering candidates with proven UK school experience at HLTA level or above. You should be confident stepping into the classroom solo and have a firm grip on classroom dynamics.

This role is not for those new to school settings—we need experienced support staff who can take control and deliver learning calmly and competently from day one.

🔑 What You'll Be Doing

* Taking full responsibility for the class when the teacher is absent

* Delivering pre-set work across a variety of subjects

* Keeping students engaged, focused, and well-behaved

* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Using your HLTA experience to support learners effectively

🔍 What You'll Need

* Recent HLTA experience (or higher) in a UK school

* Strong classroom management and a calm, confident presence

* Excellent communication and behaviour handling skills

* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

💡 Why This Role Works

* No planning, no marking—just classroom delivery

* Weekly pay and total control over which days you work

* A great step if you want variety without full-time pressure

* Regular bookings and the chance to make a big impact with minimal stress
