Here at ARM we are recruiting for a Full time permanent Wintel Engineer for a global IT services and consultancy client of ours.

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Wintel Engineer to join our clients IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows environments. This role involves working closely with end-users, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of Windows-based systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of all operational services running Windows and x86 services on Public Cloud, Private Cloud and On Prem platforms, both physical and virtual, supporting the UK, Ireland and Luxembourg businesses, ensuring all systems are fit for purpose, maintained, monitored and are compliant within our internal and external obligations
  • Ownership of all Identity services, Active Directory, EntraID, SecureEnvoy and associated services including DNS, DHCP, and Radius running on Windows Server technology.
  • Ownership of our Azure, AWS and OCI tenants covering IaaS, and M365 suite of tools
  • Ownership of data and system integrity across our multi-cloud estate, ensuring BCP and DR platforms are maintained and tested appropriately.
  • Acts as a resolver for all Wintel issues across on prem and Multi-Cloud environment, providing troubleshooting and leadership for incident management.
  • Maintain MI reporting in a timely manner and ensure all actions are concluded on time
  • Ensure Wintel systems maintain compliance within internal, external and client accreditation obligations
  • Provide technical support for Microsoft Windows operating systems and related software.
  • Perform system maintenance, patching and updates ensuring compliance with security policies and controls.
  • Create, update and maintain accurate documentation of technical issues and solutions.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues.
  • Ownership of all process documentation across the multi-disciplines of the team
  • Responsible for ensuring the configuration, release and performance management of all systems maintaining the CMDB and Service Management toolsets
  • Ownership and management of all encryption solutions including Thales KeySecure and CipherTrust
  • Ownership and management of hypervisor platforms based on VMWare with some Hyper-V.
  • Ownership and management of the Citrix estate

Qualifications:

Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role for at least 4 years, show casing continued improvement of the technology estate
  • Proven experience with public Cloud Systems across Azure, OCI and AWS.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of managing M365 Services and Microsoft Technologies in a hybrid model.
  • Strong proficiency in Scripting language, PowerShell.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues, leading a multi disciplined team as required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • SFIA Level 3

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft and/or Cloud certifications (eg MCSE, AZ900 etc).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (eg, VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience working with x86 technology based on Dell VXRail, HP ProLiant and Cisco UCS technologies in HCI and 3 tier architectures.
  • Experience with ITIL processes and practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Windows Support Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, VMWare (incl SRM) and Citrix technologies.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and network protocols.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
