Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for your next career move? Our client, a top 75 UK accountancy firm, is seeking a dedicated Senior Payroll Administrator to join their payroll department in Colchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading firm renowned for providing exceptional Audit, Tax, and Advisory services across various industries.

Position: Senior Payroll AdministratorDepartment: PayrollExperience Required: Solid overall payroll experience, including end-to-end processes. Experience using 'Staffology' is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes for clients, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Calculate and process statutory deductions, including income tax, National Insurance contributions, and pension contributions.
  • Stay updated with UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the administration of employee pension schemes.
  • Conduct payroll audits for data accuracy and compliance.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs, including salaries, benefits, and deductions.
  • Resolve complex payroll-related issues and queries.
  • Coordinate year-end payroll processes, including P60s and P11D forms.
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from clients.
  • Conduct periodic payroll reconciliations.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of payroll system upgrades or enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Administrator or similar role focused on UK payroll.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of statutory deductions and pension scheme administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing complex payroll scenarios.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
