Baltimore Consulting are looking for a SEND Tribunal Officer. you will play a key role in managing appeals lodged with the SEND Tribunal. You will work collaboratively with families, schools, local authorities, and other stakeholders to prepare cases, mediate where appropriate, and represent the local authority in tribunal hearings. Your work will ensure that decisions are evidence-based, fair, and in the best interests of the child or young person.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary point of contact for SEND Tribunal cases, managing appeals from initial notification through to resolution.
Prepare case statements and submit evidence in line with Tribunal deadlines.
Liaise with parents, carers, schools, and other professionals to clarify and resolve disputes through negotiation and mediation wherever possible.
Represent at SEND Tribunal hearings, presenting evidence and responding to questions from the panel.
Provide expert advice on SEND legislation, particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legal requirements and organisational policies.
Support colleagues in developing policies and practices to reduce disputes and improve SEND provision.About You:

Comprehensive knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Tribunal process.
Experience managing complex cases, including preparing evidence and presenting at hearings.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families and professionals.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
A commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
