Music Teacher
Dunbar Education is currently recruiting for a passionate and innovative Music Teacher, specialising in Music Production, to join a Secondary SEN Provision. This provision supports pupils aged 11-17 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Music Production Instruction: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons focused on music production, including digital composition, audio engineering, and music technology, tailored to students with SEMH and behavioural difficulties.
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement a dynamic music production curriculum that meets national standards and is flexible to accommodate the specific learning needs of students with SEMH.
- Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress through project-based assessments and provide constructive feedback to help students develop their skills in music production.
- Behaviour Management: Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Use effective behaviour management strategies to create a safe and supportive space for creative expression.
- Individualised Support: Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to provide tailored support to each student, ensuring their individual needs are met both creatively and emotionally.
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in music production. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge in the SEN sector.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, including SENCOs and other specialists, to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and interventions that integrate music production into the broader curriculum.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 6 months teaching Music Production is required. Previous experience working with SEMH pupils is highly beneficial.
- Qualifications: Must be a Qualified Teacher (QTS) or a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT).
- Commitment: This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Part-time applicants will not be considered.
- Compliance: Must hold an up-to-date DBS on the Update Service.
