Daniel Owen is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist contractor renowned for delivering high-precision envelope solutions across the UK construction sector. With a strong track record in aluminium façade systems, curtain walling, and bespoke glazing packages, they pride themselves on their ability to turn complex design concepts into reality.

Position: Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + package

Working with a wide range of clients - from Tier 1 contractors to leading architects and developers - they are committed to technical excellence, value engineering, and a collaborative approach that ensures outstanding project delivery. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.

Role Overview

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cost and commercial function on assigned projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring financial control, contractual compliance, and value delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost plans, budget estimates, and tender submissions
Lead on procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including negotiation of terms and contract formation
Conduct accurate cost forecasting and cash flow analysis across all project stages
Provide regular financial reports and valuations to internal and external stakeholders
Assess and value variations, change orders, and compensation events
Ensure timely preparation and agreement of interim and final accounts
Work closely with project managers, design teams, and site personnel to ensure financial and contractual objectives are met
Ensure all commercial activity complies with legal, regulatory, and company requirements
Actively identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and risk mitigation

Skills & Experience Required

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a QS role, ideally within the specialist subcontracting, facades, or construction sector
Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
