Job Overview: Aspire People is looking for a compassionate and proactive Behavior Mentor to join a supportive secondary school environment. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in working with young people who may display challenging behaviors, aiming to create a positive school experience and support students' social, emotional, and academic development.Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored support to students exhibiting challenging behaviors, fostering a positive attitude towards learning and school. - Develop and implement individualized behavior support plans in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and other support staff. - Mentor students on a one-on-one or small group basis, helping them set personal goals, build self-esteem, and develop positive coping strategies. - Assist teachers in managing classroom behavior by implementing proactive techniques and addressing disruptive behaviors. - Encourage positive relationships among students, promoting respect, cooperation, and empathy in all interactions. - Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students' needs. - Record and monitor students' progress, regularly assessing the effectiveness of interventions and adapting strategies as necessary.Requirements:- Proven experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with behavioral challenges, in an educational, youth work, or mentoring role. - Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient, empathetic, and supportive approach. - Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. - Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or counseling are highly desirable. - Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges is beneficial.Benefits:- Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives within a supportive secondary school environment. - Access to professional development and ongoing support through Aspire People. - Competitive pay, reflective of experience and qualifications.Aspire People is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
