Position: Vocational Assessor and Trainer
Salary: to £160 per day
Hours: 37.5 per week (Mon-Fri, 9AM-5PM)
Location: Nationwide (Hybrid: Remote & Face-to-face)
Role Overview
As a Vocational Trainer in this dynamic environment, you'll take full ownership of Teaching, Learning and Assessment across both digital and physical spaces. This includes delivering the wider curriculum elements such as PREVENT, British Values and Safeguarding through various online and in-person methods. Your role is pivotal in providing a comprehensive and adaptable educational experience to these smaller, more focused groups.
Online and Hybrid Delivery Model
Our approach combines online and face-to-face learning, offering flexibility to both trainers and learners. We deliver courses to intimate cohorts of 10-14 learners over focused two-week periods. This hybrid model includes:
- Fully online sessions utilising interactive virtual classrooms
- Blended learning experiences with a mix of online and in-person components
- Occasional face-to-face sessions for hands-on activities or assessments
The approach allows for more personalised attention and tailored instruction. Depending on the course requirements and learner needs, additional trainers may provide support to ensure a high-quality learning experience across all delivery formats.
Making an Impact
We're looking for a dedicated and dynamic Vocational Trainer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality vocational training and assessing learners' progress towards their qualifications and learning objectives. This position offers a unique opportunity to positively influence learners' lives and contribute significantly to their future success.
Key Responsibilities
As a Tutor, your core duties will include:
- Delivering vocational qualifications in Employability skills (and/or Functional Skills maths and/or English)
- Maintaining accurate attendance registers and updating learner profiles
- Effectively managing classroom pace and maintaining a productive learning environment
- Assessing learners' competence and tracking their progress
- Providing expert training in CV development and interview skills
- Offering guidance on sector-specific skills (such as construction, health and social care, education, civil service, IT)
- Ensuring compliance with quality assurance procedures
- Co-authoring and continual improvement of courses
Experience
- Relevant vocational qualification
- Recognised assessor qualification (e.g., CAVA, AVA, A1, D32/33)
- Proven experience in delivering vocational training
- Strong knowledge of CV writing and interview techniques
- Familiarity with at least one sector-specific area (e.g. construction, health and social care, education, or civil service)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and engage diverse groups of learners
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS)
- Further industry experience in one or more sector-specific areas
- Internal Quality Assurance qualification (e.g., V1, IQA)
