Job Description:We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Barking and Dagenham. This full-time position involves supporting KS2 students with special educational needs, providing tailored assistance to help them succeed in their learning journey.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to implement personalised learning plans, ensuring that each child receives the support they need to thrive. You will be responsible for working one-on-one and in small groups with children who have diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual support to students with SEN in KS2.
- Assist in planning and delivering tailored activities to meet specific learning needs.
- Encourage positive social interactions and promote emotional well-being.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
- Support students during class, break times, and extracurricular activities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN.
- Understanding of SEN best practices and safeguarding procedures.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience in KS2.
