Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

We are working with a hugely respected manufacturer in the Wellingborough area, and they are seeking a highly skilled Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the company's plant machinery and facilities.

Job Responsibilities

As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer you will:

Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all plant machinery to minimise downtime and optimise operational efficiency
Oversee and carry out necessary building maintenance ensuring a safe and functional working environment
Liaise with external contractors for specialised maintenance, repairs, and installation of new machinery and building services, ensuring work is carried out to high standards and in line with safety protocols
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and facility issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems to minimise impact on production
Implement and adhere to all health and safety policies, ensuring maintenance tasks are carried out in a safe manner and all statutory compliance requirements are met
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements, ensuring that maintenance logs and reports are up to date
Work closely with the operations and production teams to schedule maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing processes
Proactively identify areas for improvement within maintenance processes and propose initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability
Person Specification

To be successful as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer you will require:

An apprenticeship, with a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent
Proven experience in a similar maintenance engineering role
Strong multiskilled background, including both electrical and mechanical disciplines
Electrical knowledge, with 18th Edition certification preferred
Familiarity with PLC systems and Inverter Drives
Solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics (approximately 60% of work is mechanical)

Up to £38,000
Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
You will be expected to work one Saturday a month 6am to 11am
