Position Title: Project Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Sheffield

Overview: Our client is a leading provider of specialist bespoke crane solutions within the nuclear industry. We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer with an electrical background to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of complex crane projects, ensuring they meet the stringent safety and regulatory standards of the nuclear sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

Lead and manage electrical engineering aspects of crane projects from inception through to completion.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and site personnel.
Ensure all project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Design and Development:

Design electrical systems for bespoke crane solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
Perform calculations and simulations to ensure system reliability and safety.
Collaborate with the mechanical design team to integrate electrical components seamlessly.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and operational phases of crane projects.
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any electrical failures.
Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with nuclear industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans.
Participate in safety audits and inspections, addressing any identified issues promptly.Additional details:

- Rate: In the region of £40ph
- Contract assignment: Outside IR35
- Contract length: 6 months
- Location: Sheffield
- Hours: 8 per day
- Remote: Hybrid with 3 / 4 days in the office per week
