Deputy Head of Year (Pastoral)

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as Deputy Head of Year at a mainstream secondary girls' school in Whitechapel. This rewarding role involves providing pastoral support, fostering positive relationships with students, and contributing to the smooth running of our school community.

Role Details:

* Start Date: November 25th

* Working Hours: 08:15 - 16:15, Monday to Friday

* Duration: Up to one year

* Location: Whitechapel

Key Responsibilities:

* SIMS Administration: Efficiently use SIMS (School Information Management System) to manage student records and related administrative tasks. (Proficiency in SIMS is essential.)

* Parent Communications: Proactively engage with parents via phone to address concerns or share updates about their child's progress.

* Student Support: Supervise and speak with students, providing guidance and ensuring their well-being.

* Cover Teaching: Deliver one cover lesson per week (Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is not required for this aspect of the role).

* Deputy Head of Year: Act as Deputy Head of Year for two year groups, supporting the pastoral lead in managing student behavior, attendance, and welfare.

* Pastoral Activities: Participate in other pastoral-related tasks and initiatives to enhance the school environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

* Experience working in an educational or pastoral setting.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.

* Proven ability to use SIMS confidently and effectively.

* Organized, reliable, and adaptable to varying responsibilities.

* Enthusiastic about contributing to the personal and academic development of young people.
