Construction Project Lead - Waste-to-Energy | Clean Planet Energy

📍 Location: Cramlington (Pre-Construction) & Teesside (Site-Based)
📅 Start Date: May 2025 | 💰 Project Value: £50M
⏳ Project Duration: 18 months, with further projects planned

Company Overview

We are a leading EPC specialist delivering cutting-edge waste-to-energy projects. Our latest venture with Clean Planet Energy will convert hard plastics into a reusable material with crude oil-like properties. With future projects planned across the UK and Ireland, this role offers long-term career potential in a growing sector.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Lead to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of this project. You will work closely with design engineers during the pre-construction phase before taking responsibility for site-based operations. The role involves managing contractors, ensuring compliance with NEC contracts and CDM regulations, and keeping the project on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

In the pre-construction phase, you will finalise project plans, appoint contractors, and oversee all preparation before site mobilisation. Once on-site, you will manage land clearance, subcontractor coordination, and the overall construction schedule while ensuring strict adherence to health & safety and environmental standards. As the project nears completion, you will oversee commissioning and documentation to support future builds.

Who We're Looking For

We need a leader with proven experience in industrial construction, ideally in waste-to-energy, energy-from-waste, or large-scale renewable energy projects. You should have strong knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, and contractor management, along with excellent problem-solving and risk management skills. Experience with P6 planning software and project management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2) would be beneficial.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a groundbreaking sustainable energy project, with future career prospects as we expand our portfolio. We offer a competitive salary, a collaborative work environment, and the chance to shape the future of renewable energy construction
