Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a School based in Newcastle, catered for children aged 5 to 16 years old who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH). This role requires experience working with children who have SEMH needs, or transferable skills from a relevant role. Applicants who have a sports background e.g. sports coaching, experience delivering sports related sessions are encouraged to apply.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.
The successful LSA will have:
- A fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Worked with children on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
- An ability to follow personalised curriculums and EHCP's to meet children's needs
- Planning skills and can implement those plans into the child's curriculum
- A strong presence in the classroom
- Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the children
