About the Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Tool Maker/CNC Machinist to join a highly respected engineering test and development consultancy that works at the forefront of automotive and advanced engineering industries. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a skilled team supporting cutting-edge testing, development, and prototyping projects by manufacturing precision components and fixtures.

The Role

As a Tool Maker/CNC Machinist, you will manufacture a variety of precision components, from nuts and bolts to large test fixtures and customer part modifications. The role involves a mix of turning, milling, bench fitting, and some fabrication, with a focus on XYZ CNC machines and Protract programming.

Key Responsibilities

* Machining precision one-off and small-batch parts (up to 10-20 max).

* Working with aluminium, steel, and some plastics.

* Operating CNC lathes (3-axis XYZ, Protract) and milling machines.

* Performing manual tool changes and 8-station auto tool changes on CNC machines.

* Programming with Fusion 360 CAD/CAM (training available).

* Carrying out bench fitting and minor fabrication work as needed.

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and working independently to complete tasks.

What We're Looking For

* Experience as a Tool Maker, CNC Machinist, or similar role.

* Skilled in turning, milling, and bench fitting.

* Ability to work independently from engineering drawings without constant supervision.

* Experience with XYZ CNC machines, Protract programming, and Fusion 360 (or willingness to learn).

* Knowledge of machining aluminium, steel, and plastics.

* A proactive attitude and ability to work as part of a small, skilled team.
