The role:

As an Azure Engineer you will maintain a robust IT infrastructure, crucial for safeguarding the members’ futures. This role is pivotal in providing incident resolution across physical and cloud environments, as well as contributing to project delivery tasks with a focus on a cloud-first strategy.

Day to Day:

  • Provide and maintain IT infrastructure within VMware and Azure Cloud environments to meet organisational requirements.
  • Resolve incidents in the IT infrastructure across both physical and cloud environments.
  • Engage in technical discussions and contribute to project delivery tasks.
  • Administer Active Directory and EntraID, including the creation and management of Group policies.
  • Perform regular maintenance to ensure the IT infrastructure is supported and secure.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and contribute to the team’s innovative solutions and new ways of working.
  • Participate in the IT infrastructure team’s on-call rota, providing critical support as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • In depth knowledge and experience with VMware
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DCHP etc.
  • Hands on experience working with PaaS and SaaS services within Azure
  • Experience with Azure Networking principles
  • Ability to manage and administer Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Expertise in Active Directory, EntraID, Microsoft Server, and Azure cloud solutions.
  • Ability to coach and mentor colleagues, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Capability to clearly present issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive management of multiple priorities and a commitment to developing best practices.

This role is a hybrid role, where the team does not rely on presenteeism. They would like you to work where suits you best and have minimal office requirement. They will give you plenty of notice if you need to be in the office or travel to a different site. Approx 1 day per week is the average for this team.
