Buyer

Working hours: 39 hours a week. Mon-Thurs is 07:30am - 16:30pm and Fri is 07:30am - 12:30pm

Salary up to £35,000.

Hybrid working model, with 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.

25 days Holiday plus BH.

Company-paid pension contribution of 12%.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of purchasing raw materials used in the manufacturing process.
  • Manage relationships with a portfolio of suppliers, ensuring all purchasing requirements are met.
  • Evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, and recommend suppliers based on quality, delivery, and service.
  • Identify and explore potential alternative suppliers to mitigate business risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive targeted cost reductions.
  • Process purchase requisitions to ensure compliance and assist with invoice discrepancies.
  • Lead purchasing activities for project engineering, collaborating with sales and manufacturing.
  • Meet reporting requirements, including quarterly reports of results.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of plastic and rubber parts.
  • Technical understanding of warehouse industries.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing constraints.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MRP.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and the right to work in the UK.
