About the Role:Due to continued growth, we are seeking a diligent and proactive Semi-Senior to join our Tax Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone AAT qualified (or nearly qualified) with a few years of practice experience. You will be responsible for processing personal, partnership, and trust tax returns efficiently and accurately. In this role, you will work closely with the Tax Manager and other team members to ensure timely and compliant tax filings for our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients, staff members, and directors.
  • Track job progress and follow up on information requests.
  • Communicate through various channels, including telephone, email, and in-person.
  • Maintain daily timesheets and detailed task descriptions.
  • Ensure significant correspondence is received and responses are obtained promptly.
  • Provide regular progress updates to directors, clients, and key parties.
  • Identify and report on tax records and budgets.
  • Utilise various software programs, including Microsoft Office and specialist tax software like TaxCalc, FreeAgent, Xero, Hammock, and QuickBooks.
  • Complete sole trader and partnership accounts using QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Xero.
  • Learn and assist with bookkeeping and accounts department reports.
  • Process P11Ds, P11D(b), and other benefit forms.
  • Attend client and director meetings as required.

About You:

  • AAT qualified or nearly qualified, with a few years of experience in practice.
  • Experience completing sole trader and partnership accounts from QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and Xero.
  • Keen to develop your tax expertise and build a rewarding career.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Comfortable using various software programs and willing to learn new systems.
