Progress Teachers are supporting a local mainstream Secondary School to recruit an inspirational Teacher of Science to deliver impactful lessons and support all pupils to achieve positive progress and develop a love for the Sciences.

Responsibilities of the role:
* Plan and deliver engaging and impactful lessons for students across all Key Stages (KS3 / KS4 /KS5). The ideal candidate will be able to teach at least one branch of Science to KS5, with the ability to teach others to KS4.
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
* Ensure Health and Safety is consistently observed when conducting practical lessons and other teaching and learning activities within the science labs.
* Regularly monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing meaningful and targeted feedback to support their learning journey.
* Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement effective teaching strategies that will maximise progress for all students.
* Participate in school events, parent evenings, and CPD as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Teaching Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on Science is advantageous, but experienced non-qualified teachers will also be considered for the role.
* Subject Knowledge: A degree in Biology/Chemistry/Physics or a related field. The knowledge and ability to teach across different branches of science is essential.
* Teaching Experience: Proven experience as a Secondary Science Teacher with a successful track record of student achievement is highly advantageous.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
* Commitment to Inclusion: A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
* A DBS on the Update Service or Willingness to obtain.
