Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant - Ashford, Kent. 
Temp-to-Perm Contract - ASAP Start 

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a dedicated and caring Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team at a thriving SEN school in Ashford. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. 

About the School: 
This School caters to children and young people with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), and learning disabilities. The age range of the pupils is from 4 to 16 years old, and the school focuses on providing tailored support to help each child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. 

About the Role: 

Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday). Once permanent, hours will be extended to 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. 

Location: Ashford, Kent (Candidates ideally need to be able to drive due to the school's location) 

Contract: Temp-to-perm 

Start Date: ASAP, subject to full vetting 

Responsibilities: 

Support children with various SEN needs in the classroom and during activities. 

Provide 1:1 or small group support, assisting with both academic and social development. 

Help create and implement tailored learning plans. 

Assist with personal care and other day-to-day tasks where necessary. 

Work closely with the classroom teacher and other support staff to ensure a positive learning environment. 

Ideal Candidate: 

Experience working with children or adults with SEN, either within education or personal care (e.g., supporting adults with SEN). 

A caring, patient, and proactive attitude. 

Ability to engage and build relationships with children who may face communication and behavioural challenges. 

Driving license is essential due to the school's location.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
