Purpose of the job

There are two key elements of this role; In relation to teaching, you will teach full time learners the fundamentals of Motor vehicle maintenance and repair from Levels: Entry 3 up to Level 3 dependant on the cohort's needs. As a curriculum lead you will oversee the delivery and development of the of the study programme motor vehicle department. You will work closely with the quality of education manager who will assess the IMPACT of the study programme motor vehicle department. You will then agree action points and implement the required changes across the study programme motor vehicle department to improve the overall quality of the provision.

Hours and Benefits

8.30am to 5pm Monday - Thursday, 8.30am to 12.30pm Friday onsite 1pm -5pm (remote)

3 days per week teaching, 2 days per week preparing and planning/paperwork

26 days annual leave plus bank holidays + Annual Christmas centre shutdown + 2 wellbeing days if required.

£32,000 per annum - Negotiable

Main Duties and responsibilities

To plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate a course(s) of learning for learners as set out in the contract of employment to the agreed number of hours and weeks to the cohorts you are allocated as a tutor.

Design, deliver and oversee detailed syllabus/course outline information and an initial scheme of work for each course before commencement and update/maintain them as part of the course documentation files.

To prepare appropriate plans and learning materials for each session, to make them available in advance for monitoring or lesson observation visits and to maintain them as part of the course documentation files.

Working with the study programme motor vehicle teaching staff you will design and create standardised content to be delivered across the Study programme motor vehicle faculty.

To deliver monthly development sessions via one to one's with study programme motor vehicle teaching staff.

Deliver Information, Advice and Guidance to learners within the teaching class. Give further support where needed and record on pastoral log.

To monitor, mark and assess learners' work

To monitor and evaluate courses and to provide feedback to the Quality of education manager as requested, taking responsibility for the quality of the study programme motor vehicle faculty.

Experience required

Experience of teaching or assessing Motor Vehicle disciplines

Assessor or teacher qualified is essential for this role

Ideally you with have previously held the role of faculty lead or curriculum lead.

Ideally qualified to Light Vehicle level 3 qualification
