Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Brent Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for a PCN Appeals Officer this role will be: HA9 0FJ (Hybrid)

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented PCN Appeals Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and reducing representations related to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs). A strong understanding of School Street representations is essential, and prior experience in parking services and processing representations will be crucial to the success of this role. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex cases with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

* PCN Representation Management:
Review and process representations against PCNs, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
Assist in reducing the volume of representations by resolving issues effectively and fairly.

* School Street Representations:
Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in handling School Street-related PCN representations. Address appeals associated with restrictions in school zones and work with relevant teams to maintain accurate records.

* Case Adjudication:
Evaluate and decide on PCN appeals, balancing the needs of the public with the policies and regulations in place.
Provide clear explanations for decisions and respond to queries from the public regarding the status of their appeals.

* Customer Service and Communication:
Effectively communicate with members of the public, handling inquiries and resolving disputes in a professional, clear, and empathetic manner.
Liaise with other teams, including parking enforcement and legal services, to ensure timely resolution of appeals.

* Data Entry and Documentation:
Accurately document all appeal cases, including correspondence, decisions, and evidence, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and in line with data protection standards.

* Continuous Improvement:
Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes and streamline the appeals process to enhance efficiency and reduce workloads.
Stay updated on changes to parking regulations, including those specific to School Streets, to ensure all decisions are made based on the latest legal guidelines.

Key Requirements:

* Experience:
Previous experience in parking services, specifically in processing PCN representations or similar roles, is essential.
Familiarity with School Street restrictions and how they impact PCN appeals is highly desirable.
