Project Lead - Effects & Vulnerability
📍 Bristol | 💷 Up to £58,000 + bonus | 🕒 Hybrid working (3-4 days on-site)
🔐 Security Clearance required Lead advanced systems engineering projects in the field of Directed Energy Weapons.
We're hiring a Project Lead to oversee technical programmes focused on the effectiveness of high-power laser systems. You'll guide a specialist team, work closely with stakeholders to shape technical direction, and translate complex requirements into actionable engineering activities.
This role is ideal for a Systems Engineer or Requirements Engineer with strong leadership experience and a passion for innovation in high-security environments. You will have the opportunity to work for a leading multi-national Defence systems provider which boasts some of most advanced facilities in their areas of expertise. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver complex technical projects on time, within scope and budget.
Lead small, high-performing teams across R&D and collaborative contracts.
Translate customer requirements into structured engineering tasks.
Support new business activity and help define future capability.Required Skills & Experience:
Strong background in systems or requirements engineering.
Proven project delivery in complex, technical environments.
Experience managing budgets and leading multidisciplinary teams.
An appreciation of “trading requirements”Desirable:
Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Ansys Fluent or COMSOL.
Understanding of laser-matter interaction modelling.
Involvement in proposal/bid development.
Ability to simplify complex systems and communicate effectively.What's on Offer:
