We are partnering with an international human rights charity, dedicated to protecting the world's most vulnerable communities to recruit a motivated and organised Programme Finance Manager.

As a Programme Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the financial oversight of the global programmes, ensuring that funds are managed effectively, transparently, and in line with donor requirements. This position will work closely with the partners to provide financial expertise, build capacity, and support effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Lead the budgeting and financial planning process for programme activities, working closely with programme teams and partners to develop accurate financial forecasts.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring that they meet donor and internal standards. Analyse financial data to provide insights that support strategic decisions.
  • Grant Management and Compliance: Manage financial aspects of partner grant agreements, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, policies, and financial regulations. Monitor expenditure against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Partner Support: Provide financial oversight and capacity-building support to local partners, enhancing their ability to manage funds and comply with financial guidelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks within programme operations and work with relevant teams to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Audit and Due Diligence: Coordinate programme audits, prepare documentation, and support the review process to ensure compliance with financial and legal standards.
  • Collaboration and Advisory: Work closely with programme managers, fundraising teams, and other stakeholders to provide financial guidance and ensure alignment of resources with strategic priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) are highly desirable.
  • At least five years of experience in finance management, preferably within the nonprofit, international development, or charitable sectors.
  • Experience in budget management, financial analysis, and grant compliance, particularly with institutional donors (e.g., USAID, DFID, EU).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and build financial capacity in partner organisations.
