Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hello,

My client is a UK is a professional services firm which was formed in 2019. They are not your typical firm of accountants and they like doing things differently. They structure in the UK is unique as they were set up by a top 40 United States firm of accountants. They continue to operate as a single firm across the UK and the US and maintain a strong US look and feel to our UK operations. My client in the US has more than 400 professionals and has established a strong reputation as a leading advisory firm serving entrepreneurial mid-market and scale-up companies.

In the UK they typically support fasting growing SME/start-up technology and life sciences companies, who are VC-backed. They have a particular focus on those looking to expand internationally, particularly moving to or from the US. There team members share the entrepreneurial spirit of their clients and have the opportunity to be involved at the start of a fast growing and exciting business here in the UK, supported by an established and highly regarded accountancy firm in the US.

With their emphasis on Investing in Relationships to Make a Difference and a Firmwide Focus on Inclusion, they help each other grow in every aspect of life.

The Role/Department

They have rapidly built a tax service line with nearly £3m of revenue that supports their clients in the UK. Whilst many of our clients have come to us as a result of our ability to help them expand into the US, a growing number are looking for support with their UK tax as well as their European expansion plans. They already have a strong corporate tax, employment tax and personal tax offering for their clients. They also have deep specialisms in R&D tax credits, transfer pricing, global mobility and US personal tax. There team in India provides bookkeeping support to many of our clients in the UK and the US.

The Corporate Tax Director will play a key role in running key elements of the department on a day to day basis, reporting to the Partner in charge, who is also the UK Managing Partner.

They are principally looking to appoint a senior tax professional with a deep understanding and real world experience of the UK corporate tax challenges faced by fast growing, primarily PE backed, companies - this should cover all aspects of overseeing the compliance cycle, whilst personally leading on consulting and advisory projects on an ongoing basis.

They see the specialist that joins there business being somebody with energy, entrepreneurial spirit and drive with the desire to be part of the leadership of the corporate tax. This role will be both internal facing (running and developing the team), having a day to day lead role in guiding the existing FD client base as they grow and work closely with all the Partners to play a part in the continued growth of the UK tax business and the wider FD firm, whilst being fully supported by the existing partner team of my client in the UK and US.

The role is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded tax specialist to make their mark in our firm and progress to Partner.
