Home Delivery Depot Manager

* Location: Swindon

* Hours: Monday to Friday 0530 starts

* Salary: £31k starting wage

* Reporting to: Transport Manager

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dynamic Home Delivery Depot Manager to support our Transport Manager in ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient daily management of our Home Delivery Swindon depot. This role involves motivating and developing the team, reducing errors, and minimizing avoidable costs. As the depot grows, so will your role, offering ample opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities:

* Team Management: Lead and develop Team Leaders, Warehouse Operatives, and Drivers. Handle keyholder responsibilities as needed.

* Operational Oversight: Manage core home delivery processes, including goods-in, goods-out, inventory replenishment, and cycle counts.

* Staff Supervision: Coach, develop, and motivate staff, ensuring adherence to HR policies and company standards.

* Support: Assist the Transport Manager and Assistant Manager in driving continuous improvement across operations.

* Health & Safety: Ensure all site H&S and MHE checks are completed, reporting any issues to the Transport Manager or Health & Safety Officer.

* Housekeeping: Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping.

* Asset Management: Oversee non-inventory assets to minimize operational disruption and cost.

* Returns Processing: Handle inbound returns efficiently.

* Loading/Unloading: Ensure safe loading and unloading of vehicles, monitoring operatives.

* Hands-On: Willingness to get involved in loading and unloading vehicles and managing the depot team.

Qualifications / Experience

* FLT counterbalance needed

* Full Friving licence needed

* Health & Safety Training

* Excel, Word, Office 365

* Previous experince in Final mile / Home delivery
