Salary: £25.45 per hour

Our client, a prestigious London charity, is currently seeking a temporary, part-time (22.5 hours per week, ideally spread across 3-4 days) Financial Controller, running for 3-months in the first instance with the view to progressing to a permanent contract, working remotely with the requirement to come to the office in East London once per month.Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Supporting managers in ensuring financial resources are managed effectively and ensuring that policies & procedures are in place to promote consistency & accountability.
  • Providing support on long term financial plans to promote and foster the organisation’s financial health.
  • Developing a forecasting process for departmental use.
  • Analysing relevant financial data to identify trends from across the organisation to ensure optimal financial decision making.
  • Collaborating with the wider organisation to ensure that the management of financial information is complete and accurate.
  • Completing monthly reconciliation reports to support strategic financial decisions.
  • Identifying financial and operational risks and determining the most appropriate method of mitigating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maximising the cost recovery opportunities within specific areas and ensure they are captured accurately.
  • Liaising with various stakeholders to support with the smooth running of the department, including developing budgets and reports.
  • Attending required Finance & Trustee meetings, occasionally preparing and presenting reports.

To be considered for this position, you should possess:

  • Previous experience in a similar role working within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Demonstratable experience of formulating, overseeing and reporting on financial and operational plans.
  • Strong experience using data and insight to inform recommendations, identify trends and inform business decisions.
  • Strong experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong practical understanding of information governance, data protection and risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail.

This role is scheduled to interview at the end of November for an immediate start so you will need to be available immediately or with a short notice period to be considered.
