First Call Contract Services are recruiting a Material Supply Operative - Nights to join our well established food production client in Newmarket, CB8.

Job Summary:

To cover General Hygiene Duties including daily pre-start inspection of the yard, pallet count, making sure enough pallets are in the production area, ensure changing rooms have sufficient levels of PPE, ensure washing stations has sufficient levels of soap, sanitiser and hand towels, sort uniform deliveries, sort waste bags into waste skip or compactors, flatten waste carboard and put into carboard bailer, keep the rear yard and floor areas clean and tidy. Be able to cover Factory Production Operative.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete role/tasks in line with all Risk Assessment and Company Procedures.
  • Work in a safe manner, without risk to self or others, by observing all health and safety roles, procedures and COSSH regulations, ensuring individual PPE is worn as stipulated for each task (ear defenders, etc.)
  • Responsible for maintaining high personal hygiene standards and observing all company hygiene, quality and housekeeping rules, as laid out in company induction and procedures.
  • Ensure equipment and working areas are cleaned to company hygiene standards.
  • Comply with 'Clean as you go' at all times, ensuring area around you is dry and free from clutter.
  • Operate machinery in accordance with training and relevant skills.
  • Work as an operative within all areas in the department to provide maximum flexibility.
  • Report to the Team Leader any hazards or defects, by raising Near Misses.
  • Ensure product/racks are labelled at all times, to maintain traceability.
  • Support continuous improvement in all areas of the operation where greater efficiency, hygiene, quality and safety could be achieved.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled in accurately and in a timely manner, for all relevant tasks carried out.
  • Escalate issues and seek correctives/resolutions.
  • Compliance to Defacto procedures and booked as you go.
  • Carry out all other reasonable management requests on an ad hoc basis.
  • Carry out Hygiene cleaning tasks if required.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

  • Working in a busy factory environment.
  • Working within a team.
  • Due diligence - paperwork completion.
  • Defacto system - Booking.
  • Knowledge of Hygiene and Food standards.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
  • Allergen Awareness.
