Compliance Manager

Location: London (Hybrid - In office 1-2 days a week)

My client is looking for an experienced and driven Compliance Manager to join a rapidly growing London-based fintech with ambitious plans for expansion. This is a pivotal role where you’ll ensure all regulatory requirements are met, maintain high standards of compliance, and support the business in navigating the complex landscape of the mortgage industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the compliance function, ensuring activities are in line with regulations and internal policies.
• Ensure all relevant staff are SM&CR compliant and provide KPI data to sales teams.
• Refine, implement, and maintain company-wide compliance policies and procedures.
• Act as the firm’s SMF16 function, managing all aspects of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and implement appropriate controls.
• Oversee and manage regulatory reporting, ensuring timely submissions.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, particularly the FCA, ensuring compliance with their requirements.
• Conduct internal audits to maintain regulatory standards.
• Stay current on industry developments and proactively adjust the company’s compliance framework.
• Train and educate staff on compliance matters and foster a culture of compliance.

Requirements:

• Experience: Previous experience in a compliance role within a fully regulated mortgage environment is essential.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the mortgage industry and FCA regulations.
• Qualifications: CeMAP or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
