If so, we'd love to hear from you. We have a new and exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join our Customer Service Centre supporting our Core, Highways and Social Care Teams.

Our Customer Service Centre is the councils corporate front door for phone and email contact and supports 23 services across the council. We receive on average 300,000 calls and 80,000 emails a year.

Salary: £23,500 to £23,893 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week) Part time hours considered minimum 30 hours per week.

Location: Durban House, Durban Rd, Bognor Regis PO22 9RE. Due to the temporary closure of Durban House, you will be based at Tradewinds Business Centre, Heath Place, Heath Pl, Bognor Regis PO22 9SL. (Hybrid and Flexible Working)

This role offers hybrid working arrangements and will require you to work from county council office buildings as well as the flexibility of home working as appropriate. Final arrangements to be confirmed with successful candidate.

The Opportunity

Reporting to a CSC Team Manager , your role will be vital in supporting the Customer Service Centre to provide exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of administrative tasks.

You will need to prioritise your duties according to the needs of the team and service goals, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all your work.

From data entry to filing to organizing meetings and compiling agendas, you will be the key player in keeping everything running smoothly. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you update spreadsheets, process applications, and input data into council IT systems.

Other duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Communicate with and develop good working relationships with the public and colleagues.
  • Deliver timely and efficient administrative support.
  • Update and maintain relevant records appropriately and accurately.
  • Follow procedures to respond to queries independently.
  • Refer complex queries under guidance.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive data carefully daily.

Every task you undertake will contribute to the smooth operation of the team, allowing you to make a meaningful impact. The successful candidate's dedication and attention to detail will be essential in ensuring the success of our administrative operations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have good IT skills including the use of office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.

You will have keen attention to detail, be comfortable working independently and be at ease in this fast-paced, agile environment with rapidly changing deadlines, workloads, and priorities.

A friendly and professional demeanour, along with excellent interpersonal skills will help you progress in our collaborative environment.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, communicating on several different levels with multiple stakeholders and adapting your style accordingly.
