You will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the practice. You will possess strong organisational and supervisory skills, with a strong technical background in accountancy.BENEFITS OF WORKING FOR THIS ACCOUNTING FIRMAs Senior Accountant / Manager you will receive the following benefits:--Salary of £45-55k per annum with performance-based annual bonus-Professional development opportunities-A collaborative and dynamic work environment-Annual performance reviews-32 days paid annual leave (including bank holidays)-Pension scheme-Free ParkingKEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Oversight:-Reviewing of work (alongside the responsible Director(s))-Be responsible for the timely delivery of year end accounts, tax returns and VAT returns-Take a lead on completion of top 10 clients Year-end accounts, Vat Returns & tax returns-Ensure efficient workflow and effective utilisation of resourcesClient Services:-Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing enquiries, and ensuring exceptional client service-Monitor client satisfaction and implement improvements as neededStaff Management:-Supervise team of accountants, bookkeepers to deliver on deadlines-Conduct regular performance & coaching reviews (alongside the responsible Director(s)), provide feedback, and facilitate professional developmentWorkflow and Task Management:-Allocate work assignments and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines-Ensure the timely completion of projects and deliverablesFinancial Management:-Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures-Deliver on revenue and profitability objectivesCompliance and Quality Assurance:-Ensure the practice adheres to all regulatory requirements and industry standards-Implement and maintain quality control processes to uphold service excellenceTechnology and Systems:-Oversee the implementation and utilization of accounting software and other technology tools-Stay informed about advancements in technology relevant to the accountancy fieldMarketing and Business Development:-Collaborate with partners to develop and implement marketing strategies-Identify opportunities for business growth and client acquisitionTraining and Professional Development:-Facilitate training sessions for staff to enhance technical and soft skills-Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulationsRisk Management:-Identify and assess potential risks to the practice and implement mitigation strategies-Monitor compliance with risk management policiesPERSON SPECIFICATION-Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, or a related field-Fully qualified Chartered accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 5 year’s practice experience ( min 3 years post qualification)-Proven experience in a managerial role within an accountancy practice -Strong leadership and organisational skills-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities-Knowledge of accounting principles and industry regulations-Familiarity with accounting software and technology tools-Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities-Problem-solving and decision-making skills-Knowledge of Sage 50, Iris, TaxCalc, VT & Xero etc. advantageousThis vacancy is being handled by Laura Banks – Kenton Black FinanceIf you have the above skills and attributes with previous practice experience in a similar position, and would like to find out more then please APPLY TODAYKenton Black Finance operate across the UK as a market leading recruitment partner, specialising in the attraction of finance talent across both permanent and interim requirements.
