Communications Officer / Immediate start / 3-month contract/ £20 per hourMy client, a well-recognised housing company, are looking for a Communications Officer to join them on an initial three-month contract basis. Within this role you will be creating and distributing engaging content and work as part of the wider communications team. You will assist with the delivery of the communication strategy and look at developments across social media.Role and Responsibilities:

• Support the business and its press and PR function
• Positive and negative media handling
• Building strong relationships with local, national and trade media
• Promote company visions through press releases and responding to topics
• Build strong stakeholder relationships
• Be creative in the communication delivery through research, writing and editorial
• Contribute content to web, social and other channels
• Produce and edit communications
• Track and evaluate works and ensure reporting is complete
• Drive value in all campaigns and stay in line with company voice and brand

Essential skills:

• Experience within social housing or similar would be advantageous
• Degree educated in marketing or similar is desirable
• You should have a minimum of two years’ experience in a communications environment
• The ability to write and edit for a range of audiences
• Competent in responding to press enquiries
• Experienced in creating email and SMS campaigns
• Content management system experience
• Able to work independently and to strict deadlines

Package:

• £20 per hour umbrella
• 3-month contract – potential for extension
• Can work on a hybrid basis from a London, Surrey or Kent office
• Immediate start
