Senior Nursery Room Leader

Salary: Up to £30,000
Full-Time, 40 hours per week

As a Senior Nursery Room Leader, you'll have the chance to lead a dynamic team in providing exceptional care and learning experiences that prepare children for school and life.

As a Senior Nursery Room Leader you will oversee a room, ensuring it operates smoothly and delivers a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children. You'll lead by example, supporting your team to provide engaging, well-structured, and varied activities that inspire curiosity and growth. Your warmth, enthusiasm, and expertise will create a space where children thrive and parents feel confident in their child's care.

What we're looking for
  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a senior or leadership role within a nursery or early years setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and a passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support a team.
  • A proactive, positive, and nurturing approach to working with young children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.


Your day-to-day
  • Lead and mentor your room team, creating a positive and collaborative environment that promotes best practices.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate a wide range of age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues, ensuring open communication and a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Monitor and support children's development, maintaining accurate records and creating individualised plans to meet their needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment, ensuring all resources are used effectively and in compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Support the wider nursery leadership team in driving high standards across the nursery.
