Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Clerk of Works - Damp and Mould (project)on a 9 month contract with a possibility of further extension, full time working 36 hours per week.
A minimum of 4 days working in the office is required.
This role will require a UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
What will you do?
- Reporting to the Major Works Programme Manager, you will work with a team responsible for providing a Quality Assurance/Clerk of Works service in connection with Sutton Housing Partnerships programme of capital and cyclical works.
- Provide a Quality Assurance/Clerk of Work service across the full range of work undertaken by Sutton Housing Partnerships.
- Agree joint quality control procedures with the constructor/contractor in accordance with Sutton Housing Partnerships requirements and audit such procedures and records to ensure that quality control inspections are effective and efficient.
- Maintain a critical but constructive relationship with the contractor's supervisory staff.
- Examine specifications and drawings and ensure that any aspects which are not satisfactory are rectified.
- Carry out site visits at least weekly, to all sites to ensure that materials, construction standards and site practices meet Sutton Housing Partnerships requirements, and prepare a Health and Safety report.
- Inspect finished work.
- Prepare specification.

To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:

Experience working in housing for a local authority or other social housing provider is essential.

Recognised construction - related qualification to at least HNC or HND level with a demonstrable record of accomplishment as a Clerk of Works or Surveyor on large and moderately complex projects.

Experience in managing the quality of large-scale capital expenditure projects on residential buildings.
