Local Authority Name is seeking a talented Building Surveyor to join our team, supporting the delivery of high-quality property services and ensuring our buildings meet the needs of residents and stakeholders.
?? Key Responsibilities: - Conduct detailed inspections and surveys of council-owned properties, identifying necessary repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
- Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and cost estimates for works required.
- Manage and oversee construction and maintenance projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety legislation, and council policies.
- Provide expert advice on building-related issues to internal departments, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Monitor contractor performance and quality, ensuring work is carried out to agreed specifications and standards.

?? About You: - Qualified Professional: Degree in building surveying or a related field and relevant professional membership (e.g., RICS or CIOB).
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, and relevant legislation, including health and safety and building regulations.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Problem-Solver: Skilled in identifying issues, analyzing options, and implementing effective solutions.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience working within a local authority or similar organization is desirable but not essential
