Accelerate Teaching is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teacher to join a Secondary Special Needs School in Wakefield. This rewarding position is set to commence in September 2024 and offers the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs.

We are looking for an experienced professional who is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in working with special needs students and demonstrate a deep understanding of their unique educational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of students with special educational needs (SEN).
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
Assess students' progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other educational professionals to deliver holistic support to students.
Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
Maintain accurate records of students' development and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Engage with parents and guardians to discuss their child's progress and address any concerns.Essential Criteria:

Proven experience in teaching students with special educational needs.
A relevant teaching qualification and SEN certification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage a diverse workload.
A patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
