Hourly Pay:£14.70
Location: Romford
Day Shift: Monday to Friday 8am-6pm (term time) with additional shifts available during holidays - please state your availability and preference when applying
About the role
Join our team as a **Paediatric Health Care Assistant**, where you'll play a key role in supporting a young, highly mobile, and independent client who loves to run, ride his scooter, and play. While requiring specialist care, he is full of energy and enthusiasm for life. Your role will involve supporting him at school, enabling him to engage in a variety of activities, and helping him enjoy his independence safely and confidently.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a child, supporting their growth and enabling them to participate fully in school and community life. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure you feel prepared and empowered to succeed in this role.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Paediatric Health Care Assistant, you'll tailor your care to meet the specific needs of your client while encouraging his independence. Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting his attendance and active participation in school activities.
- Encouraging engagement in out-of-school experiences that align with his energetic and independent personality.
- Providing specialist medical care when required, such as managing central lines and gastrostomy needs.
- Ensuring his mobility and independence are supported safely while fostering confidence and self-reliance.
Experience and Training:
While previous experience in the following areas is beneficial, **full training will be provided** for suitable candidates:
- Central Line Management
- Central Line Safety
- Gastrostomy Replacement

- Patient, empathetic, and able to adapt to the needs of an independent and active child.
- Enthusiastic about working with children and supporting their development in school and the community.
- Physically capable of managing the demands of an energetic and mobile young client.
Supporting you

Before you start, you'll have the chance to meet your client and their family. And when you do, you'll have day-to-day support with a Care Co-ordinator or Nurse Manager always on hand to answer your questions. You'll also be able to access our 'Carer App' which is a fantastic source of insight and information. In short, we'll give you all you need to get the most out of this rewarding and fulfilling role.
